The breakout brand built a loyal following with their unisex sneakers after exploding onto the footwear scene via social media marketing and record online sales. Now, TRONUS is celebrating this in-person retail partnership with an industry leading corporation as they look ahead to their next steps.
ATLANTA - PennZone -- In 2021, TRONUS announced that their luxury athleisure wear unisex sneakers would be available through a partnership with Eastbay.com. The Black woman owned footwear startup had come seemingly out of nowhere with an impressive sprint toward success. Now, to demonstrate staying power, the brand is focusing on next-level moves including this new announcement with Champs Sports Homefield - the 35,000 square feet location in Pembroke Pines, Florida - largest of any Foot Locker, Inc. subsidiary in the world.
TRONUS is a rule-breaking, fashionable, community-forward brand that made their debut in the Summer of 2020 to the tune of a six-figure launch that crashed their website in the first few hours of their pre-orders going live. This of course caused competitors and collaborators to take notice . . . and all during the height of a global pandemic.
"This is perfect timing and a great fit. We're all really excited", shares Santia Deck, the young CEO that serves as the face of the bold shoe brand. Santia co-founded TRONUS with her mother, Cynthia Cureton-Robles who is COO of the company. Shattering expectations is built right into the company culture. Although these two Black women lacked previous ecommerce experience, they didn't lack business, social media and traditional marketing savvy needed to launch a successful brand today. Having created success as an athlete and fitness personality with a loyal social following of over 2.5 million, TRONUS was born out of Santia's thriving endorsement of a small independent shoe brand and the idea of her own signature line. Once it was clear that this ideal situation would be difficult to materialize, Deck & Cureton-Robles decided to explore the feasibility of Santia starting her own sneaker company. They spent several months of R&D, test marketing and tons of audience analysis which proved that Santia could successfully launch her own shoe. The rest is history . . . which is precisely what TRONUS made as the first shoe company owned by a woman athlete. It's this spirit and drive for success that have the Champs Sports Homefield team excited to see TRONUS shoes in their store. "At Champs Sports, we are committed to listening to our consumers. We've been a part of athletes' lives since inception and this new Homefield concept directly caters to their total needs," said Guy Harkless, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Champs Sports and Eastbay. TRONUS is planning a major in-store event at the Champs Sports Homefield location in the coming weeks (TBA).

Since Champs Sports Homefield is positioned as a responsive offering that is catering to the evolving needs of consumers, and TRONUS has centered data and customer input from their inception, the pairing makes sense. The online nature of its business model has worked extremely well for TRONUS even though their shoes are most impressive in person. "When people get to hold our shoes in their hands and see how light they are, and when they try them on, we instantly gain a new super-fan," boasts Cureton-Robles.
TRONUS seems to be positioning themselves for the same type of strategic success they've created online in the in-person retail arena as well. If the industry old guard has not reckoned with the fact that TRONUS is a rising brand to take note of yet, they should certainly do so soon.
