PHILADELPHIA and HOUSTON, July 9, 2025 ~ LDR Partners LP, a private equity firm, has recently announced the acquisition of Active Radiator, a leading manufacturer, servicer, and distributor of heavy-duty cooling equipment in the United States. The transaction was completed on July 3, 2025 and was financed by LDR Growth Partners Fund I LP and its affiliated vehicles.

Active Radiator will now operate under a unified platform called Active Thermal Solutions alongside Cincinnati Radiator and Ohio Heat Transfer. Founded in 1940 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Active has an 85-year history of serving the commercial and industrial heat exchanger market. The company has 13 locations across nine states and offers a wide range of products including heavy-duty radiators, charge air coolers, oil coolers, condensers, copper and brass cores, and aluminum components.

With a 141,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and 90,000 square feet of storage space, Active is well-equipped to meet the needs of its customers. The company's advanced manufacturing capabilities include specialization in Class 6-8 vehicles such as Autocar, Bluebird, Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, Navistar, Peterbilt, Volvo and more. They also offer custom engineering and reverse engineering services for replacement units and discontinued parts.

Active's state-of-the-art facilities also include three Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) furnaces for high-performance aluminum units. They also have advanced fabrication infrastructure with CNC machines, laser cutters, stamping presses and machining centers to support custom and high-volume runs. In addition to these services, Active also provides Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) compatible with various brands such as Caterpillar,Cummins,Detroit Diesel,Hino,Mack,Paccar,Vovlo,and more.

The newly formed platform, Active Thermal Solutions, will now operate across 15 locations nationwide with over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space. They will serve various sectors including agricultural equipment, mass transit & lift trucks, construction & industrial equipment,class 5-8 commercial on- and off-road vehicles,aerospace & power generation.

The integrated platform offers in-house mechanical and heat transfer engineering services as well as full machining, tooling,and die-making capabilities. They also have the largest collection of CAB and Vacuum Aluminum Brazing (VAB) furnaces in the United States.

Looking towards the future, Active Thermal Solutions plans to continue investing in product innovation, expanding OEM relationships,and growing their national footprint for aftermarket repair and distribution services.
