Regional restoration service works with area businesses to gather over 200 pounds of additional food donations for Westmoreland Food Bank.
GREENSBURG, Pa. - PennZone -- Every November and December businesses and individuals alike generously donate their time and resources for fundraisers, toy drives, food drives, and more, all in the spirit of giving that the holiday season brings forth. But what about the rest of the year? That's exactly why All Dry Services of Rostraver/Fay West chose to partner with Westmoreland Food Bank for a special February food drive initiative.
"We believe in being a true resource for the communities we serve," says All Dry owner Jim Wessel. "Whenever we see a need, our first question is always, 'What can we do to help?'"
"So many go without proper food every single day of the year. They need more than a one-time helping hand during the holidays," adds All Dry Marketing Director, Adam Watt. "That's why we reached out to Westmoreland Food Bank to see what we could do to help brighten the new year for those still struggling to put food on the table."

Three additional area business locations agreed to have food donation bins placed at their respective locations from February 14th through the 23rd: Henry's Hoagies in Greensburg; Randall's Restaurant in Perryopolis; and The Center for Fitness and Health at Mon Valley Hospital in Belle Vernon. The All Dry team, in vehicles bearing beloved company mascot Puddles The Duck, made the rounds at each location to collect donations throughout the 10-day span as the bins were often overflowing every few days.
All donations followed the food bank's guidelines and included staple items such as pasta, peanut butter, cereal, canned goods, and more. Overall, the drive netted an extra 214 pounds of food for the food bank while helping raise awareness for the ongoing need for food donations and related outreach efforts, with Director of Volunteers and Food Drives Gina Colosimo excitedly calling the final results "wonderful."

"Moving forward, this is something we will continue to do regularly for Westmoreland Food Bank and similar programs in our area throughout the year," said Watt.
