Small Environmental Business Action Coalition, Inc
WASHINGTON - PennZone -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is the recipient of the 2024 Award for Excellence. SEBAC presents the award to recognize a federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental businesses.

Procurement data researched by GovSpend + Fedmine specific to North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) codes 562910 and 541620 was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses. These data were used as a component in determining the recipient of the Award for Excellence along with a pre-established set of criteria which includes three key components:
  • The agency's ability to meet or exceed fiscal year projected goals;
  • The agency's quality and quantity of small business awards; and
  • The agency's progress towards improvement in attaining goals (percentage increase and/or proven improvement).
"We are pleased to recognize the United States Environmental Protection Agency for its strong support of small environmental businesses as demonstrated by the quantity and quality of small business prime contracts," said SEBAC President John Dwyer.

In the federal government's fiscal year 2024, USEPA exceeded the Small Business Administration's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 59% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 to small businesses. SEBAC recognizes USEPA for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as single award and multiple award environmental compliance and remedial action contracts.

Mr. Dwyer and Award for Excellence Chairperson Monica Cooper will present the Award during SEBAC's Networking Reception and Award Presentation during the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in The Rivergate Terrace room on the second floor of the Convention Center.
