Two Partners Earn Coveted 'Lawyer of the Year' Title in Specialty Practice Areas

PITTSBURGH - PennZone -- Pittsburgh family law firm Pollock Begg has made a record-breaking showing in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America with 10 of the firm's divorce attorneys named to the prestigious guide, including three first-time honorees. In addition, five of the firm's attorneys earned 2024 Ones To Watch honors for the first time. Pollock Begg partners also captured special recognition for their mediation and arbitration work.

Partners Todd M. Begg, Daniel H. Glasser, Candice L. Komar, David S. Pollock, Heather Trostle Smith, Brian C. Vertz and Joseph R. Williams once again earned spots in the 2024 guide. They are joined by first-time honorees Partner Stephanie L. Jablon, Senior Associate Alexandra L. Kovalchick and Associate Meghan L. Zupancic in the 30th edition of the guide, published today.

Associates Morgan M. Bonekovic, Megan A. DelVecchio, Benjamin M. Lehman, Ashley M. Majorsky and Lindsay A. Nemit each earned 2024 Best Lawyers in America: Ones To Watch recognition, given to attorneys who are earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

"It's a real point of pride to see Stephanie, Alex and Meghan honored for the first time, along with the recognition of five of our newer associates as 'Ones To Watch,'" Komar said. "These accolades reaffirm our position as a dynamic force in the legal landscape, now and for years to come."

Komar also was selected as Pittsburgh "Lawyer of the Year" for Family Law Mediation. Williams received the same designation for Family Law Arbitration. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the "Lawyer of the Year," making this accolade especially significant. Both received the same honors in 2022.

Komar has established herself as a leader in collaborative law, a certified mediator and a fierce courtroom litigator. She excels at divorces involving valuation of closely held businesses and child support litigation.

Williams is a skilled litigator who also is well-versed in alternative dispute resolution and certified in collaborative divorce. His diverse, comprehensive family law practice includes divorce and equitable distribution cases, custody and visitation, protection from abuse and support.

In 2023, Begg was named "Lawyer of the Year" in Family Law Mediation and Glasser received the same designation for Family Law and Family Law Arbitration. Vertz was awarded the Pittsburgh "Lawyer of the Year" title in Family Law in 2019.
