Council Applauds the Organization's Leadership in Mindfulness, Resilience, and Trauma-Sensitive Education

PHILADELPHIA - PennZone -- The Philadelphia City Council has formally recognized Inner Strength Education and Founder Amy Edelstein for a decade of transformative work supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of Philadelphia's youth. Resolution 251033, titled "Honoring and recognizing Inner Strength Education during the celebration of its 10-Year Anniversary…", was unanimously adopted during the November 20th Council Session.

The citation acknowledges Inner Strength Education's pioneering mindfulness-based, trauma-sensitive programs, which have reached more than 35,000 high school students and 5,000 educators across the School District of Philadelphia. The resolution also highlights the organization's evidence-based impact on student self-regulation, focus, emotional resilience, and positive decision-making.

"Inner Strength Education has equipped tens of thousands of Philadelphia youth with the tools to navigate stress, build emotional awareness, and cultivate resilience," the resolution states. "Its programs have been a model of innovation and care, supporting both students and instructors across the District."

Founded by author and educator Amy Edelstein in 2014, Inner Strength Education integrates mindfulness, cognitive development, systems thinking, and social-emotional learning to help teens navigate the pressures of modern life with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

"We are deeply honored by this recognition from the City Council," said Amy Edelstein, Founder of Inner Strength Education. "For ten years, our mission has been to help young people discover their inherent strength, wisdom, and capacity for growth. This citation affirms the importance of giving teens the tools they need to thrive—especially in times of uncertainty."
