Industry-leading team includes licensed addiction counselors with specialized expertise in RDAP qualification and documentation
PHILADELPHIA - PennZone -- SHAMONG, NJ — Justice Advisory Group (JAG), a national consulting firm focused on federal sentencing mitigation, prison preparation, and reentry planning, today announced the expansion of its comprehensive support services for individuals and families navigating the federal criminal justice system.
For many defendants and their families, the period between indictment, sentencing, and incarceration can be overwhelming. While attorneys focus on legal strategy and courtroom advocacy, critical non-legal factors—including mitigation documentation, rehabilitation efforts, addiction treatment history, prison readiness, family impact planning, and reentry preparation—often receive limited attention due to time and resource constraints.
Justice Advisory Group was created to help fill that gap.
"Legal representation is essential, but there are many aspects of a federal case that extend beyond the courtroom," said Jason Gerner, Co-Founder of Justice Advisory Group. "Our mission is to help individuals present the fullest picture of who they are, document their efforts toward rehabilitation, prepare for incarceration, and position themselves for success long after sentencing."

JAG works alongside defense attorneys, not in competition with them, helping clients develop comprehensive mitigation packages, personal history narratives, recovery documentation, family impact presentations, educational and vocational plans, and prison adjustment strategies.
A key differentiator for the organization is its team of licensed addiction counselors with specialized expertise in the Federal Bureau of Prisons' Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). RDAP is one of the few programs that can potentially reduce a federal inmate's sentence by up to 12 months, yet many eligible individuals are overlooked because addiction histories are not properly documented before sentencing.
"Many defendants and even some legal professionals are unaware that RDAP eligibility often begins with documentation created long before someone enters prison," Gerner added. "Missing that opportunity can have life-changing consequences."
Justice Advisory Group's services include:
The organization serves clients nationwide and works with attorneys, families, treatment providers, and community organizations to develop individualized strategies designed to improve outcomes before, during, and after incarceration.
