Bellefonte MedTech Company Shifts to Producing Face Shields During the Coronavirus Pandemic

BELLEFONTE, Pa. - PennZone -- Actuated Medical, Inc. (AMI) recently announced on Facebook that it started manufacturing Face Shields for first responders and medical professionals battling the Coronavirus pandemic.

"We are ramping up toward 20,000 shields in the next few weeks," said Maureen L. Mulvihill, PhD, President & CEO of AMI. The first lot of shields shipped on Tuesday, March 31 to customers in Dallas, Tx., Baltimore, Md., and State College, Pa. The 20-person medical device company created a production line for the shields in one week.

"So proud of the team!!" Mulvihill continued on the post. "If you know any healthcare professionals interested have them email faceshield@actuatedmedical.com."

The shield consists of a clear polycarbonate for visibility. Its multiuse design can be cleaned with bleach, alcohol, or soap and water. The Face Shields are packaged in boxes of 20 shields and sold for $400 per box ($20 per Face Shield).
