PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. - PennZone -- While touring with her metal heavy band, Corvus, award-winning author and photographer Brandy Isadora met many people who were tattooed. To her, it seemed more people than ever were getting tattooed, but the question was why.

This question inspired the book, Tattle Tales: Tattoo Stories and Portraits. Brandy interviewed and photographed people from all walks of life, from doctors, lawyers, artists, and many others. "If you have a family member who chose to get tattooed and you wondered why, then this book is for you," Brandy says. "Many of my subjects chose their tattoos to honor their loved ones, commemorate memories and achievements, or simply because they fell in love with the art."

Brandy photographed and interviewed a whole family who went to Arizona State University, and all chose to get tattoos to honor ASU.

Asked if she ever chose to get ink, Brandy admits she has not gone there yet. She adds, "It's fascinating what people choose to have tattooed on their body. No matter where they go, they will always have their art with them."

So, the next time you see someone who's tattooed you might ask them the story behind the ink. To quote Rod Stewart, "Every picture tells a story".

Tattle Tales is currently available on Amazon.
