HOLLYWOOD, Calif. & NEW YORK & LONDON & TOKYO, Japan - PennZone -- In "Under Your Spell," Sidow Sobrino has given himself a new title. He is The Supreme Sorcerer, the imperious center of a strange royal court, possessed of an empire and nearly everything that comes with one. What he does not have is an heir.

That absence provides the premise for a music video preoccupied with succession, attraction and the theater of authority. Set in Miami Beach, Florida, but filmed along the coastline of Laguna Beach, California, "Under Your Spell" begins its mythology with a séance. Forces from above and below are summoned, and a succession of beauties enters the Sorcerer's realm, each hoping to captivate its ruler and carry the child destined for his empire.

Beauty, in this universe, is plentiful. Worthiness is considerably more elusive.

The person closest to the throne is Balthazar, the Royal Butler, played by Sobrino's husband, Richard. More confidant than servant, Balthazar assists in his master's search. Richard also contributes background vocals to the recording, extending the partnership from screen to track.

The extravagance unfolds against a high-energy Electronic and Dance-Pop track whose hypnotic production supplies the video with its momentum, expressed onscreen through ritual, performance and supernatural symbolism.

Such transformations have become part of the vocabulary of Seminal. Instead of assigning the album a uniform visual identity, Sobrino treats its tracks as opportunities to construct separate realities. "Under Your Spell" enters the more fantastical: a court suspended somewhere between royal pageant and occult ceremony.

The Supreme Sorcerer does not merely seek companionship; he conducts a supernatural search for dynastic continuation. Balthazar, meanwhile, helps his master manage the parade.
