NEW OXFORD, Pa. - PennZone -- Roots for Boots will launch Rations for the Ranks on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, replacing the organization's MilitaryShare program with a new monthly food distribution and support program created for local veterans and service members. Roots for Boots will remain the same; Rations for the Ranks will become a branch of Military Share.

Rations for the Ranks will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hampton Fire Company, 5371 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, Pennsylvania. The November 10 distribution will be the first held under the new program name. MilitaryShare will continue under its current format through the October distribution.

Current MilitaryShare participants will be transferred automatically into Rations for the Ranks and do not need to enroll again. Veterans who previously became ineligible for MilitaryShare because of Central Pennsylvania Food Banks income requirement may contact Roots for Boots to reserve a place in Rations for the Ranks. Participation will be based on military service rather than household income.

Attendance will be limited to 200 participants due to space and parking constraints at the fire hall. Veterans seeking to return to the program or confirm their participation should contact Roots for Boots at 717-316-0155 or r4boots@gmail.com before the November launch.

The transition reflects Roots for Boots' commitment to adapting its programs while preserving the relationships built with the veterans it serves. Rations for the Ranks will continue the organization's community-supported approach to food assistance while creating opportunities to connect participants with additional help and resources.
