ALLENTOWN, Pa. - PennZone -- OctoNerv LLC announced the completion of a functional electronic prototype of the Electronic Breast Nipple Implant (EBNI), an early-stage medical device concept currently under research and development.

EBNI is being explored as a potential solution to address an unmet need in breast reconstruction by enabling controllable nipple projection following mastectomy and reconstructive procedures. The prototype integrates a soft silicone form with internal micro-actuation, pressure sensing, wireless charging, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication to demonstrate technical feasibility.

The device is not a commercial product and has not undergone clinical validation. No animal or human testing has been conducted to date. The prototype was developed solely to evaluate mechanical and electronic feasibility and to support early-stage research discussions.

OctoNerv plans to engage with clinical experts, innovation programs, and research institutions to help guide future development and assess clinical relevance.
