First-time author creates a magical Christmas journey benefiting Kids in Crisis.

PHILADELPHIA & COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - PennZone -- Just in time for the holiday season, Mascot Books announces the release of Santa's Magical Reindeer: Becoming Pen Pals, by Michele Monaco, with illustrations by Prabir Sarkar.

Right after Thanksgiving is the busiest time of year for Santa and his crew of eight famous reindeer! Every year, the Famous Eight sleigh team from the North Pole eagerly helps Santa by going on a quest to find kids who believe in Christmas magic.

In Santa's Magical Reindeer: Becoming Pen Pals, Prancer, Vixen, and Dasher go on an adventure in search of eager pen pals. On their journey, they find three rambunctious girls who eagerly exchange letters with them and become lifelong friends.

Monaco's three daughters served as the inspiration to the story, as their eyes lit up when deer would wander into the family's backyard from the woods behind their home.

"One year, inspiration struck, and I decided for each of my girls to have their own Pen Pal reindeer," Monaco said. "From that point on, their reindeer have been an integral part of our family's Christmas!"

Monaco said that by writing letters to reindeer as pen pals, her children experienced the true magic of Christmas. That's why she encourages young readers to do the same. In the back of Santa's Magical Reindeer: Becoming Pen Pals, Monaco provides children with questions they can ask their reindeer. Ideas range from asking about their favorite reindeer game to whether they get to go in the toy factory.

"I want the book to help people create a more magical, meaningful, and memorable Christmas experience that can be passed down for generations," said Monaco. "Through having a reindeer pen pal, children will learn to ask questions about the world around them, be creative, and connect with others. It is also a great way for parents to learn more about their children's thoughts and feelings."

Monaco has a great love for the Christmas season. She embraces the Christmas spirit all year round by remembering to look at life through the eyes of a child. As a mother of three beautiful and exuberant daughters, she believes in the magic that the holiday brings. Monaco lives in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and enjoys traveling, reading, running, and enjoying the outdoors.

Santa's Magical Reindeer: Becoming Pen Pals (ISBN: 978-1-64543-970-7) is currently available at www.sleighbellcity.com as well as Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
