Third Resource Closet Now Open to Empower Students with Essential Needs

MINOT, N.D. - PennZone -- Mrs. Field's Closet, the local nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth by providing school supplies, hygiene products, and clothing, is proud to announce the opening of its third in-school resource closet, now serving students at Minot North High School.

This expansion strengthens the organization's mission to ensure every child in Minot Public Schools—from kindergarten through graduation—has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow, and thrive with dignity.

Founded in April 2019, Mrs. Field's Closet began as a humble in-school initiative at Longfellow, sparked by White's desire to lift up students in need while honoring Field's legacy of compassion and encouragement.

Since its inception, the nonprofit has made a remarkable impact:
  • 2,577 students served with 11,620 items distributed, including school supplies, new clothing, and personal hygiene essentials.
  • The second closet opened in 2024 at Central Middle School, furthering outreach and support.
  • Now, with the opening of the Minot North High School location (plus Erik Ramstad Middle School also upcoming), Mrs. Field's Closet is positioned to support students at every stage of their educational journey.
"With the addition of closets at Ramstad and Minot North, students who begin at Longfellow can continue to benefit from our support — kindergarten through graduation," says Tammy White.
