LANCASTER, Pa. - PennZone -- After years of bright stage lights, late-night jams, and miles on the road, Max Hightower returns to the heart of his musical inspiration with an honest, fire-breathing, foot-stomping celebration of the blues he's loved from the start. Nothin' but the Truth, the debut solo album from one of the founding members of Mac Arnold and Plate Full O' Blues, is set for February 21, 2025 release. Recorded at BIGTONE Records in New Orleans, vintage recording equipment captured the raw soul of a live band on this treasure trove of original tunes oozing with funky Southern grease.
Initially inspired by seeing Jimi Hendrix on TV and listening to a worn-out cassette of Muddy 'Mississippi' Waters Live, the South Carolina native's blues journey began at age 12 on his grandmother's old 1950's Silvertone guitar which was soon to be replaced with a harmonica. By his mid-teens, Hightower was jamming in smoky barrooms, honing his chops on harmonica, piano, guitar, and eventually vocals. Ultimately evolving into a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, he has shared the stage with some of the very legends who first fueled his musical passion, including Hubert Sumlin, Bob Stroger, Eddie Shaw, Kim Wilson and Bobby Rush.

It is always extra special to support an artist's debut offering, setting the stage upon which years of hopes, dreams, planning and LOTS of practice have laid the foundation," says MoMojo president, Sallie Bengtson. "We look forward to sharing this project with the worldwide blues community."
"Creating and recording this album was just the beginning," says Hightower. "The crucial part was teaming up with Sallie Bengtson and Debra Clark at MoMojo Records. They are no-doubt the engine that keeps everything moving forward and I'm blessed to have the opportunity to work with them both."
Preorders for Nothin' but the Truth begin January 24 with the release of the single, "It's on Me".
