A newly published U.S. patent application (US 2025/0333232 A1) discloses a heated storage case designed to prevent garden hoses from freezing during cold weather storage

CHICAGO - PennZone -- The device integrates a thermally insulated storage case with an internal electric heating pad that defines the floor of the case. When plugged into a standard power outlet, the heating pad generates warmth within the enclosed storage space to inhibit freezing.

Key Features Include:
  • Thermally insulated perimeter wall
  • Hinged lid with secure closure
  • Integrated heating pad floor
  • Electrical power cord connection
  • Carry handles for portability
  • Internal storage pouch

This innovation addresses a long-standing issue in cold climates: hose damage caused by freezing water expansion.
