One-man volleyball team Bob Holmes joins forces with NFL legend Doug Plank to support local schools, veterans, and food pantries

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. - PennZone -- This September, Grayslake's bravest will take to the volleyball court in a unique community event like no other. Nationally known motivational speaker and one-man volleyball team Bob Holmes, also known as "Beat Bob," will take on members of the Grayslake Police and Fire Departments in a high-energy, family-friendly showdown aimed at raising funds and food for local causes.

The event is scheduled for September 13th at the College of Lake County gymnasium and will include appearances by Doug Plank, former Chicago Bears safety, and potentially other NFL alumni.

Bob Holmes is no ordinary athlete. As a one-man volleyball team, he has played more than 20,000 games across the country, taking on pro athletes, entire student bodies, and even military teams. His mission: to deliver a message of perseverance, resilience, and hope, while taking a powerful stand against bullying, teenage suicide and vaping. Through his high-energy games and motivational talks, Bob empowers audiences to rise above adversity and stand up for themselves and others.

"I've played over 20,000 games across the country, but every time I take the court, my mission is the same — to inspire people to stand up, speak out, and rise above life's challenges," said Bob Holmes. "Grayslake's police and firefighters are true heroes, and I can't wait to meet them on the court for a cause that matters."

This event is powered by Inspire.World, a purpose-driven fundraising platform that works closely with schools, sport teams, churches, and nonprofits to empower year-round giving.

"At Inspire.World, we believe fundraising can be both meaningful and fun," said Charles Kruse, CEO & Founder of Inspire.World. "This event brings together first responders, schools, veterans, and families in one weekend of connection and community impact, and we're proud to support it."
