PITTSBURGH - PennZone -- The award-winning children's book, Becoming a Superhero is being featured at the B.F. Jones Memorial Library, as part of their Black History Month Celebration. The Black Superheroes Black History Month event takes place February 25th.
Inspired by Ariane's background in nutrition, Becoming a Superhero encourages children to eat healthy foods and exercise through play. She has spent the last decade advocating good nutrition and exercises as means to fight childhood obesity. The book went on to receive two Independent Press Awards, which are given to "those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change in the world of publishing. Throughout February, Kristen Janci, MLIS, Library Director, District Administrator is highlighting Black Superheroes during Black History Month. Ariane's impactful strides gained her recognition at the upcoming Black History Month Celebration powered by B.F. Jones Memorial Library in Pennsylvania.
