For the second year, Typeset is studying the effectiveness of business writing. Co-founders Sarah Mitchell and Dan Hatch are working with Mantis Research to learn how companies are using writing and how they can improve writing skills for internal and external communications. The 2nd annual State of Writing survey is now open to learn how businesses are improving their writing effectiveness and what's changed in the past 12 months.
PERTH, Australia - PennZone -- Have you considered how the writing in your organisation is impacting your bottom line? The 2nd annual State of Writing research is designed to learn what business communicators – marketers, communications professionals and small business owners – can do to improve the return on their writing investment.
Editorial services provider Typeset has commissioned global research from Mantis Research to find out exactly that.

Co-founder Sarah Mitchell said the inaugural study into writing effectiveness uncovered surprising details about the results organisations are achieving with their writing projects.
"Our State of Writing 2020 report showed the majority of communicators (78%) know what success looks like, but fewer than half (46%) consider themselves very or extremely effective in their writing efforts," Mitchell said.
"In 2021, we want to continue this work to better understand how companies can improve the ROI of their writing efforts and provide more value to their readers."
Co-founder Dan Hatch said the importance of editorial rigour was a key finding of the 2020 report and Typeset's State of Writing 2021 Survey will dig deeper.

"We learned in our first study that half of communicators struggle to know what their audience wants to read and those who are achieving the most success in their writing efforts use more editorial processes," Hatch said.
"We're committed to helping businesses improve their writing effectiveness so the investment they make in written content becomes a valuable long-term business asset."
You can take part in the 2nd annual State of Writing Survey here. All answers are anonymous. Everyone who completes the survey will receive and advance copy of the results.
