PITTSBURGH - PennZone -- In his new book, The Principal Thing: How to Revolutionize Your Life and Revive the Church, author Dave Herr explores the book of Proverbs from a present-day stance. His book encourages readers to embrace wisdom and truth amidst the chaos of the world.

"We are living in a day when the treasure of absolute truth is displaced by a false 'truth' that is relative to the speaker. It is as though if one speaks words, that makes them true," Herr explains.  "Even the church, which is supposed to be the light of the world, has mostly abandoned faith in the absolute, leaving the world in spiritual darkness. In a world that becomes darker by the day, there is no time like now to return to wisdom."

Herr's book addresses practical, every-day issues of fear, love, the call of God, gender, race, devotion, sexual purity, scars from our past, dealings with the fool and scoffer, conversation, authority, injustice, counsel, the rod, the fountain of life, the two women, and more. Nothing transcends wisdom's importance, as it is written, "Wisdom is the principal thing." The plethora of truth in the book of Proverbs is not disconnected information but all related directly to Jesus, the embodiment of truth.
