CARTHAGE, Mo. - PennZone -- Stratum Nutrition®, (a business of ESM Technologies), and Adare Biome™, (a division of Adare Pharma Solutions) are pleased to announce LBiome™ has been awarded the NIE 2021 Award for their Condition Specific Category. LBiome is a human strain-derived, heat-treated postbiotic (Lactobacillus LB) that has been used as a digestive aid for over a century. NIE presented this award to LBiome for its great appeal to formulators, its vast research portfolio, shelf and gastric stability, and its versatility in dosing formats.

By definition of the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP), LBiome meets all criteria as a true postbiotic, meaning it contains the cells or cells components from the microbial source, in addition to all metabolites produced during fermentation. More than 40 published studies have been conducted on LBiome. These include clinical trials in adults and children demonstrating its extraordinary safety and benefits throughout the digestive tract. In vitro and in vivo studies have further expanded this knowledge, revealing that the cells, cell fragments, and metabolites help create an enhanced environment for the gut microbiome and strengthen the intestinal lining by providing beneficial support for a healthy brush border and tight junctions. *

Ludger Roedder, President of Adare Biome, said, "On behalf of the Adare Biome team, I am honored that LBiome has been recognized as an effective, safe, and natural ingredient to improve human nutrition. We believe in the power of postbiotics to revolutionize human health, and LBiome has proven to be a pioneer in the postbiotics space. I am convinced that LBiome is well-positioned to meet growing interest and consumer needs to improve human health and wellbeing by using postbiotics."

LBiome has more digestive health-supporting research than any other human origin postbiotic currently on the market. In addition, many of the LBiome clinicals show safety and digestive health support in pediatrics, which is not seen in many postbiotic competitors.

Micah Osborne, President of Stratum Nutrition, said, "As a proud distributor of LBiome, we are excited to see it gain recognition in the industry as the pioneer of postbiotics. With its proven safety and the extent of published research supporting its benefits as a digestive aid, it is the perfect addition to our ingredient portfolio. LBiome is well-positioned to meet the demand of this emerging category in the microbiome space."
