New album, 'Legacy Rewind: Live in '25', slated for April 17, 2026 release

LANCASTER, Pa. & PORTLAND, Ore. - PennZone -- Nola Blue Records is proud to announce the signing of 13-time Blues Music Award winner and international touring artist Curtis Salgado and the spring 2026 release of Legacy Rewind: Live in '25, a powerful tour de force performance by Salgado and a 15 piece band including Keashaun Jones, Margaret Linn and Lindsey Reynolds (backing vocals); Alan Hager and Ben Rice (guitar), John Linn and John Wolcott (bass), Brady Goss (piano), Brian Harris (B3), Gary Harris and Timothy Bryson (saxophones), Dave Mills (trumpet), Lars Campbell (trombone), and Ron Tuttle and Patrick Seals (drums and percussion). The performance was recorded live and filmed at The Triple Door in Seattle, WA on April 5, 2025.

On this historic retrospective, Salgado breathes new energy and life into a high impact set list of R&B, Funk, Soul and Rock 'n' Roll music from various points in his career, featuring new arrangements using four part horns and three backing singers. An astounding ten of the thirteen songs are from Salgado's extensive list of Blues Music Award-nominated projects and from award-winning albums: "Nobody But You" and "A Woman or The Blues" from Soul Shot (Alligator Records, 2012); "My Girlfriend" from The Beautiful Lowdown (Alligator Records, 2016) and the title track from Fine By Me (Little Village, 2024).

Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1954 and exposed to music from an early age, after Salgado's performance skills emerged in kindergarten, he remained active in his school music and drama programs and other community events until reaching 18 and starting work as a paid performer on the bar scene. By 1977, an introduction to John Belushi during a set break of a performance at The Eugene Hotel helped plant seeds that would influence the box office hit film, The Blues Brothers. A former member of The Robert Cray Band and vocalist for Roomful of Blues, Salgado has worked on and off as a solo artist and with various other bands since age 18, and has been fronting his own band since 1987. He tours extensively in the United States and worldwide.

"We are very proud to add Curtis to our roster and to begin our work with this outstanding project. It was a thrill to witness the live show as it was recorded. The energy onstage and throughout the room was palpable as Curtis and the band bared their musical souls to a sold out room," says Nola Blue Records president Sallie Bengtson. "Knowing that Curtis has always wanted to release a live record and partnering with him to make that dream a reality is an inspiration and an honor for Nola Blue."

"This album was inspired and supported in large part by Randy Maag, a friend, fan and patron of the arts. The opportunity to make a live recording came at the perfect time because I had recently met Sallie Bengtson through two great musician friends from Los Angeles, Terry Wilson and Teresa James," Salgado says. "Within a short time of meeting Sallie, it was very apparent that she was not like the others. She is genuine, artist-focused, and willing to look outside the box to support all the styles of music I play -- American music -- R&B, Soul and Rock 'n' Roll. True artistry comes from freedom and I believe I found it."
