WHIPPANY, N.J. - PennZone -- Marketsmith Inc., the largest independent full-service marketing agency in New Jersey, in collaboration with the New Jersey DHS, has launched a statewide advertising campaign centered around opioid use to educate and bring public awareness targeting the opioid epidemic in the state of New Jersey. "The Call" builds on the Department of Human Services ("DHS") "Chapter 2" campaign with messaging crafted to help continue to eliminate stigma/discrimination in the general population around the use of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to support an individual's recovery.

The new campaign began in late August, right on the heels of the "Chapter 2" campaign, to continue to bring awareness to this incredibly important message. According to the New Jersey Office of Attorney General, about 3,000 New Jerseyans have died from overdoses each year. Governor Murphy has also initiated programs and signed numerous bills into law to combat the opioid epidemic.

"The Call" was crafted to give residents struggling with substance use disorder or addiction the tools and assistance they need – like information on available treatment options and the number to the state's addiction treatment helpline, 1-844-ReachNJ.

Messaging will be targeted to multiple resident groups, such as student-athletes, pregnant women, and prescribers. The campaign can be seen across digital platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, and streaming audio and podcasts, as well as out of home at youth sporting events and malls across the state. The campaign also utilizes traditional media tactics like television, radio, and print to ensure as many residents across the state see the campaign.

"At Marketsmith Inc. we want to be able to save as many lives as possible with our work, and with this partnership. We will continue our efforts to inform individuals about the medications that can support their recovery in addition to the hotline resources available to them." said Marketsmith CEO and Founder Monica C. Smith. "We are passionate about how to communicate and get the message out to those who need to hear it most."

In addition to its work on the DHS campaign, Marketsmith also represents other prominent clients in New Jersey, including the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance – GetCovered NJ, New Jersey's Official Healthcare Insurance Marketplace, N.J. Lottery, NJ Department of Health, NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety, and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Clean Energy Program.
