BETHLEHEM, Pa. - PennZone -- www.MBCEA.org - The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announces Dunn Building Company, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, and servicing the Southeast, as the first and only metal building assembler based in Alabama to hold the prestigious AC478 accreditation administered by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). AC478, Accreditation for Metal Building Assemblers Inspection, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers committed to excellence.

Achieving this accreditation demonstrates that Dunn Building Company has the personnel, organization skills, experience, knowledge, management procedures, and commitment to assemble metal buildings in accordance with code, specifications, costs and deadlines. Some of the requirements for this accreditation include: documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, OSHA training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documents.

"Too often owners planning on building a metal building concentrate on price because they have no better way to differentiate the contractors who build their buildings. This often leads to poor workmanship, delays, and unfortunately unsafe conditions. Some contractors choose to differentiate themselves by proving their commitment to Quality and Safety. One of those is Dunn Building Company, the most recent Metal Building Assembler to achieve IAS AC478 Accreditation. Dunn, the first accredited assembler in Alabama, joins a growing list of companies at the cutting edge of our industry," noted Art Hance, Past President of MBCEA, while acknowledging the company's achievement. "Owners now have a much better way to guide them to selecting the right metal building assembler; AC478 Accreditation. Our congratulations to the team at Dunn Building Systems for reaching this milestone."

Andrew Edwards, president of Dunn Building Company, LLC jumped at the opportunity to pursue AC478 accreditation.  "I believe all metal building companies should want to adhere to a higher standard, and we are very proud to be the first contractor in Alabama to achieve AC478 accreditation." said Edwards.  "I view this as another opportunity to continue to expand the Dunn Fundamentals' culture of safety, quality and efficiency.  Our customers will continue to benefit from our performance."
