Arizona Filmmaker Challenges Industry Norms to Create Family Feature Film

CHANDLER, Ariz. - PennZone -- PHOENIX, AZ – Michelle Wolett may be a new filmmaker in the Arizona film industry, but her creativity and determination are unmatched. Michelle's filmmaking journey started when her daughter, Lux Elizabeth, expressed a desire to become an actress. When traditional opportunities were limited, Michelle took matters into her own hands and began creating their own movies together.

As a mother-daughter filmmaking duo, Michelle and Lux have already made 3 award-winning short films using just their iPhone. However, Michelle's ultimate goal was to create her first feature film. Despite being told by industry veterans that she would need a significant budget to make a quality film, Michelle refused to take no for an answer and set off on a mission to make her dream a reality.

Inspired by the low-budget filmmaking approach of acclaimed director Robert Rodriguez, Michelle decided to utilize the resources she had available. With the help of Lux's friends from acting class, writing in familiar locations, and borrowing equipment, Michelle took on the ambitious task of creating a children's feature film titled "The Enigma of the Hidden Key." To her astonishment, people started offering to assist her, and before she knew it, she had a dedicated crew that felt more like family in the end.

"The Enigma of the Hidden Key" follows the story of 10-year-old Alice and her friends as they solve a mysterious treasure hunt that uncovers hidden town history and family connections. The heartwarming family adventure embodies themes of teamwork, friendship, and self-belief.

Lux Elizabeth, who stars in the film alongside local celebrity Sean Dillingham and a talented cast, is an award-winning actress determined to make her mark in the industry. With her own filmmaking experience, Lux brings a unique perspective to the project.

Bernie Tarin, an award-winning cinematographer, also joins the team, bringing his passion for film and storytelling to the production. Together, this dynamic group of creatives is breaking boundaries and proving that with determination and resourcefulness, anything is possible.

Through her filmmaking journey, Michelle is not only realizing her dream but also teaching her daughter and others the valuable lesson of never giving up on your aspirations. The message is clear: If you have a dream, go out and make it happen, go out and make it happen, regardless of the obstacles in your way. If you really want something- go do it.
