The event raises funds for programming that supports foster children and youth

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - PennZone -- ChildPromise, Inc. will hold its third annual gala on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, PA. The evening's keynote speaker is screenwriter, poet, lecturer, and best-selling author Antwone Fisher. Mr. Fisher is best known for his autobiographical and New York Times national bestselling book Finding Fish, his memoir of a childhood spent in foster care. A child advocate and gifted public speaker, he is also known for the Fox Searchlight Pictures classic feature film, Antwone Fisher, written and co-produced by Fisher and directed by Denzel Washington.

ChildPromise annually recognizes advocates for foster children and will present the following lifetime achievement and leadership awards at this year's event:
  • 2019 Kenneth and Irene Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award to Christos and Cheryl Christakis. The Christakis' and their family have been stalwart supporters of ChildPromise, Inc. for many years and the children served. Their immense contribution in making the lives of others better is recognized and honored.
           
  • 2019 Estelle B. Richman Leadership Award to Kutztown University (https://www.kutztown.edu/) and Dr. Kenneth Hawkinson (https://www.kutztown.edu/about-ku/administrativ...), President of Kutztown University in honor of PROFS - Providing Resources and Opportunities for Future Stand Out. A one-of-a-kind support program, in partnership with ChildPromise, Inc. and provided through the university, that offers the opportunity for foster students to reach their greatest potential and be a positive example for others who have also gone through the system.      
Dr. Mike Cirigliano (http://www.fox29.com/about-us/dr-mike-ciriglian...), medical contributor for Fox 29 News' Good Day Philadelphia, will serve as the event emcee. Duranice Pace of the Anointed Pace Sisters, recently featured on The Steve Harvey Show, will provide the evening's musical entertainment. The 2019 Gala event chair is Victor Salicetti of AmericaVen, LLC, Bethlehem, PA.
