A key inspiration for the ride is Cooper's fellow Australian – and famous cricket captain – Steve Waugh. Like many active, sports-enthusiasts who have played contact sports over decades, Cooper has suffered his fair share of concussions over the years and has come to realize that these incidents might play an outsize role in his lifelong battle with depression.
