MANHATTAN, N.Y. - PennZone -- American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) is proud to announce a new Clinical affiliation with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP), United Kingdom. In addition to SABP, AUA has clinical affiliations with Lakeside Healthcare Group, Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwick.

In August 2020, AUA's inaugural class of students from the United Kingdom commenced medical school as part of AUA's International Track. This newly launched track allows UK students to complete clinical rotations at the above UK hospitals after two years of preclinicals in Antigua.

"AUA's International Track provides students the opportunity to become physicians who are able to overcome the challenges in providing healthcare in the 21st century," said Peter Bell, MD, AUA Vice President of Global Medical Education and Executive Dean of Clinical Sciences.

At the university's high-tech Antigua campus, students learn the fundamentals of Pre-Clinical medicine via a highly individualized, interactive curriculum that leverages AUA's Small-Group Active Learning Concept, a teaching modality that breaks students into small groups for a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1 during the first academic period and up to 20:1 for the remaining Pre-Clinical periods.
