GREENVILLE, Pa. - PennZone -- Sarahbeth Abalos is the director of the recently approved Thiel College Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Students in the program will be admitted to both the College's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and Sharon Regional's Registered Nurse program. Students will begin taking classes on the Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/) campus in the fall of 2021.

"It is an honor and a privilege to have been chosen as the director of the BSN Program at Thiel College and to have the opportunity to reestablish the tradition of nursing at the College," Abalos said. "I am looking forward to sharing my passion for nursing with the students by providing nursing education that is focused on meeting the diverse needs of our local community and beyond."

Students in the program will be active members of the Thiel community and eligible for all student life programs and athletics.

Abalos is a Licensed Registered Nurse and a graduate of the Ashland Community and Technical College. She completed her Master's degree in nursing science with a concentration in education at Wilkes University Passan School of Nursing where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate, and she is a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at Aspen University. She is projected to graduate in summer 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Abalos also belongs to the American Nurses Association, the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the National League for Nursing. She volunteers with Junior Achievement of Western PA and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for Mercer County in 2017. She is a member of the board of directors for Do Good. Period. and the vice chairman of the Board of Directors at Sharon Community Health.

About Thiel College

Thiel College (https://www.thiel.edu/admissions) is an independent college founded in the Lutheran tradition. Located in Greenville, Pa., the College offers 60 majors and minors, 24 varsity sports, and an 11:1 student-faculty ratio.
