HARRISBURG, Pa. - PennZone -- Pennsylvania Young Democrats have elected Andre Del Valle as the first Latino President as Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close. The elected leadership team through 2021 now consists of President Andre Del Valle, Vice President Laura Shadle, Treasurer Lindy Li, and Secretary David Bria. Andre previously served as President of the Philadelphia Young Democrats where he guided the chapter to national recognition as the Young Democrats of America Large Chapter of the Year.

"I'm excited to work alongside Laura, Lindy, and David. Each brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from which PAYD can only benefit. Our immediate goal is to elect Democratic candidates in the 2019 municipal elections by organizing young Democrat groups across the Commonwealth. In the coming weeks, we will announce bold initiatives to support rural Democrats, build our grassroots support into action-oriented chapters, and encourage members to run for elected office up and down the ballot."
