'This World', his new release on MoMojo Records, slated for February release

LANCASTER, Pa. - PennZone -- A seasoned guitarist/vocalist/songwriter, Billy Thompson has performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Canada. He deftly and uniquely blends blues, rock, funk, second line and soul, captivating audiences everywhere with his electrifying performances.

Billy, referred to as a "force of nature", began playing music in the 70s and has since played with a who's who of performers as well as with his own band and as a solo performer. Since 2022, he has toured with Zydeco great CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band. He has backed legends such as Little Milton, Albert King, Earl King, and Art Neville, while opening for the likes of Robert Cray, Sonny Landreth, The Neville Brothers, Joe Cocker, George Thorogood, and Jimmie Vaughan. He has performed on Barbara Walter's The View, with the San Diego Symphony, at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and for the grand opening of L.A.'s House of Blues.

Mostly recorded in New Orleans, This World is an eclectic mix of roots reverent numbers that truly blur the lines between musical genres. A cast of top-notch players, some of whom are Grammy winners, helped forge this collectible gem steeped in blues, Americana, and rock.  This World shows yet another side of this artful slide player, singer-songwriter and takes us through the gamut of emotions from happiness to angst to hope.  It's music for the mind and soul.

Preorders for This World begin January 30 with the release of "Hope Peace & Joy."  The full album follows on February 20.
