Ventura County's local Medi-Cal plan strengthens its commitment to local and neighboring communities by supporting community-based and national organizations

CAMARILLO, Calif. - PennZone -- Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) today announced the distribution of $225,000 in sponsorships to community-based and national organizations to support Ventura County and neighboring communities to provide relief to victims of the recent fires and strengthen preparedness efforts for future emergencies.

In response to the growing needs arising from the devastation of the recent fires in Camarillo and the Greater Los Angeles area, GCHP distributed $225,000 in total funding to support the following organizations:
  • 805 UndocuFund: $25,000 to support undocumented families impacted by the fires.
  • Food Share and Poder Popular / Lucha: $25,000 each to provide food to affected families.
  • American Red Cross: $50,000 to provide emergency response support.
  • California Community Foundation: $50,000 to support organizations, programs and services that contribute to the productivity, health, and well-being for California residents.
  • World Central Kitchen: $50,000 to provide meals to those impacted by the fires.
"We understand how critical it is to support our community during these difficult times," said Dr. Felix Nuñez, GCHP's acting chief executive officer (CEO). "These sponsorships underscore our commitment to uplift mission-driven organizations as they serve our vulnerable communities during a time of great need."

"We are committed to being a trusted partner in our community's journey toward recovery, continued growth, and overall well-being," said Marlen Torres, GCHP's chief member experience and external affairs officer.
