ATLANTA - PennZone -- Falcomm, the fabless semiconductor company providing the most energy-efficient power amplifiers to the wireless communication market, was selected for the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200, the world's preeminent startup competition.

The company is one of 200 startups selected from a review of thousands of applicants to pitch in front of investors and TechCrunch editors. Falcomm CEO Edgar Garay will take the Pitch Showcase Stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2023, the influential annual conference held from Sept. 19-21 in San Francisco.

Falcomm takes its place with founders from across the globe, coming together to compete for the attention of top investors. Companies that have launched at Battlefield include Dropbox, Yammer and Tripit.

Backed by years of research at the Georgia Institute of Technology and multiple patents, Falcomm's technology addresses crucial challenges in efficiency and thermal performance in the power amplifier, which is the semiconductor device that conditions and blasts a digital signal through a physical interface, such as an antenna. The Dual-Drive power amplifier delivers performance that is 1.8x more efficient at 2x higher power, with half of the silicon area requirements of traditional power amplifiers.

Falcomm's Dual-Drive power amplifier aims to bring greater efficiency to a broad cross-section of communications technologies, including satellites, wireless communications, radar and consumer electronics devices. By harnessing this advance, base station, cell phone and radar manufacturers will be able to decrease their thermal management and energy cost, while easing overall system requirements.

A venture-backed company, Falcomm recently secured a lead investor to support its continued expansion. The company is a graduate of the Berkeley SkyDeck Accelerator and the EvoNexus incubator.

Falcomm will be showcasing the Dual-Drive power amplifier at booth G7 during TechCrunch Disrupt. Edgar Garay will present on the Pitch Showcase Stage on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
