Cpics is a streaming service for content curated and developed by leading independent South Asian creators for the South Asian diaspora.

LOS ANGELES - PennZone -- Cpics, a US-based premier video-on-demand and subscription streaming service focused on the South Asian audience, announces 2022 activities. Available this Spring, Cpics will feature new and exciting original series, feature films, short form shows, and documentaries across multiple genres. Cpics intends to be a global platform that will prioritize, distribute and connect the audience with a personalized viewing experience that is representative of the intergenerational South Asian stories in the US and beyond.

The motivation behind Cpics came from the outpouring of inspirational content created by independent South Asian-American filmmakers over the past several years. The South Asian diaspora is one of the largest growing populations with over 100 million South Asian descendants currently living in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Pair that with the popularity of South Asian-themed shows such as "Never Have I Ever" and "Made in Heaven",  this growth directly reflects the high demand from the English-speaking South Asian audience for content that is more representative of their culture.

As part of Cpics' ongoing commitment to working with independent South Asian talent, they will be collaborating with Simrun Dhugga who will serve as the Head Advisor and Consulting Producer. Dhugga is a writer, director, and producer who has dedicated her career to creating diverse, meaningful stories. As Head Advisor and Consulting Producer, Dhugga will be working to address the lack of mainstream opportunities for South Asian talent by selecting projects from storytellers, filmmakers, writers, and actors who are eager to honor their cultural roots through stories that are representative of Cpics' artistic vision.

"We want to show the world that there is more to South Asian media than just Bollywood," said Dhugga. "With the launch of Cpics, we will be introducing exceptional storytelling, creativity and providing much needed South Asian representation in the United States and all over the world."
